Finding the right codec for video file - Graphic Design Forum and Web Design Forum

Hi, I have some videos that just won't play, I've tried (Gspot) for finding out which codec I'm missing but no luck, anyone know something so I can download the right codec and play these clips ?

It has done the job for some of my movies but this one quicktime file which I need to view (100+ megs) still does not open.

Also I need a mp3 codec know of any off hand?

For encoding mp3s i assume you mean. Use LAME, it's pretty much the standard these days.
Quicktime files play for me without any problem. Try it on quicktime itself. If that still doesn't work, i would question the health of that video.

Not a encoder, when I try to play mp3 they won't play, do you know of a mp3 codec?
