Default Student Edition the same as "normal" edition?

Ok, for around £200 - £300 it seems that I can get the Adobe Design Premium CS 3.0 Student Edition - for Mac compared to the thousands of pounds it is for the "real thing" .

My question is.....is the student edition any different from the no student edition. i.e. are the programs all exactly the same?

Also, I know that you can only get the serial codes for the programs if your a student but is there anything similiar for teachers?

THANSK ALL!!!!

Phil

Student additions usually are missing some of the more advanced features.

ie. Lightwave had a student version called "inspire" Many of the advanced modeling and animation features are missing. But you can still do plenty with inspire.

yes but you cannot save legacy.
adobe likes to disable save and web-linked features with the student editions.

you can only save CS3 compatible files. you cannot save dumbed down file formats for older versions of the Software.

if you need to save a file for photoshop 9 from CS3 student... you can't.
this comes into play when transferring files from your work to a printer who may not have the latest and greatest versions.

I dunno how it is with adobe stuff, but with some student editions of other software, they can be fully functional but you're not licensed to use the software for commercial purposes. The logic is that anyone who would be honest enough to buy a student edition rather than get a pirated version would be honest enough to adhere to such a legal restriction.
