Default New member with questions. Ill to PS

Hello
Well im new and here with probably a stupid question, but im new to this. Anyway my boss Has me do a few targeted emailers per week to our customers. I create them in illustrator, I then export them from Ill. as a PSD, resize and clip them in Photoshop, save as a .jpg, and then load the image into dreamweaver to add links. It seems as they loose alot of sharpness when going from an .ai file to a .psd is there a better way to do this?
Also the text seems kind of hard to read unless its actually being printed when using Illustrator.
Just trying to learn more, i appreciate any help. Here is the latest one i did.
It was much clearer as an .ai file.

Would a .gif or .jpeg be better?
