Default 3D Text

Hi there people!

I'm a designer for predominantley club flyers.

I've seen a 3d metal text (link below) - I would love to be able to produce these! I've tried to imitate this in photoshop and illustrator - but no luck

I'm hoping someone can help me out here? What application can I use to do this? Any chance of a tutorial?

Heres various images of the effect:

Let me know if you need more images.

Much appreciated and thanks in advanced
Dinx

No probs, glad it's a step forward.

The 'ext' are the two extrusion depths....one for the bevel and one for the main text depth..........just play around with those until you get the kinda feel you're after.

blender may be the best choice, you can look into Swift3D also.

blender is nice.. I'd like to hear what Dave (dd_ 3D Expert) has to say though.

Dave uses cinema 4d, blender is fine for what you want to do, and it's free. Swift3d is not free and it's mainly for flash, so i don't know if you can achieve the results you want with that. However, it does give you the option to output whatever you make to a vector, which is nice.
There might be some blender plugin that does that too though, i don't know.
