what search terms were they using to find you on google, as google looks for a variety of things including, meta tags, meta descriptions, keywords, links in, links out, main text, as well as various others.

The reason I asked what search terms were used is I searched "Hardan web design" and could find nothing after the first 7 pages

Your seach terms will show you up but if you take the harden out it won't trust me.

google would still have a result of a search because it would have spidered it in the past, which means the info would be cached.

I still find links to my very first site, which i closed down over 5 yrs ago, but if i search for it on google, it will still come up with the link to my old site.

Actually, Search engines like google will bump you out for adding text at 1pt font to the footer of the site. The actual content of your site / along with link popularity is what will move you to the top. Keywords in your meta tags can only do so much.

All about how many click your link.
