Yeah same here. I will worry about when the day comes. Until then I have no real desire to learn them.

Nope, neither do I. What does annoy me however is people that say tables should never be used. That's bull****, tables shouldn't be used for layout, but if you have a table of data, what else would you use? But until that time comes, I'll carry on unaware :)

tags. supposedly they are trying to get browsers to recognize the tags for every column (most WYSIWYG programs use this nonstandard variation as well).
if you use nested
tags then you know how to use tables... but you don't have to specify the rows and columns and you don't have to use as many tags to get the same result.
in the war of "TABLES vs DIVS" i think that each has it's place and intended use. following strict standards guidelines removes the uncertainty of the whens and wheres but i generally code hybrid (a mix of table and div).

yes. that is a bad thing.
actually no one knows how to write a correct table because standards hasn't forced it yet.

the correct use demands implementation of the
in printing web pages and propagate the table head on the top of every page of multi page printed tables. since this is currently unsupported most developers/designers just use the

I used to write sites using tables... I actually liked it, I would create locked regions and all so the site's owner could only update and change regions that I designated. Very nice in that respect, using tables.

But...... when I was asked to redsign anythign on the site.. WOW... what a mess !!!
