i think its very importance to have a clear concept about how your site will be visualize including colors,typography,positioning, and ofcourse the content, but since you already have the content what you need to do is make a concept of your website design (just a concept) maybe you can draw in a paper, the header and what things will be put on it, navigation, sidebar, content area, main color etc. then ask your web designer create design and html/xhtml based on the concept you have made.
Once its done you just need to copy paste those conten tinto the html/xhtml file :)
