hi,

I have just learn web designing HTML and CSS.
But I had a doudt, i got to see the following code on most of the sites when is see their source code.

something like this:

Can some tell me for what is this used?

It just defines a doctype for the document. It helps browsers know what type of document to parse.

I think that this code is for standerd of "W3C" if you remove this code from your page, then might be some of the code in html will not work.

So make sure you have this code in your every single html page!!
