Default Banner Size

Ok I am at work at the moment feeling like **** after a heavy night and not knowing who I've left behind in my bed! i need to make a banner for one of our clients, its going to be 14x9 ft so i need to make sure i design it big enough so they don't have to enlarge it and lose quality. Now obviously i cant make the photoshop file 14x9ft in size so how do i go about making it a high enough resolution so that they dont have to enlarge it? I know inkjets print at 720dpi which means making the design in 240ppi but i'm not sure how they print banners and what size and ppi i should the document they will use to print the banner

advice needed!

thanks

Joe

A vector image created in Illustrator can be scaled to whatever size.

If you're talking 14ft the resolution is going to be pretty big plus the file size I'd ask the people you're supplying to the spec they require.

I don't know why more people don't use illustrator I think once you learn to work vector is opens more doors to creativity.

Do you have Indesign or Quark at work? I had four 800mm x 2500mm banners to do earlier this week, and indesign handled them nicely.
