Default web rescue

hi everyone, i have a client that wants a website that is editable by personnel onsite in their shop. is there any solution that wouldn't require them to purchase additional software? i know my way around dreamweaver, and i use a lot of reference materials for scripts...but backend stuff is a total weakspot for me...any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Yep if this content is not important, Wordpress is easy-to-use and his community is very active.

I've never used any content management software before.
Can joomla or any of the others be set up to allow the user to modify a site i've designed and coded outside that app?

Say for example, i make a website and the client who's a total technophobe wants to be able to easily edit the text, add images to it etc...

Yeah i do. I could write something for that i suppose, but it'd be nice to use a decent pre-made interface if it works.
No sense wasting my time writing out a new app.

Then again, once you've coded it, you've got your own basic CMS that you can use on any sites you design—perhaps take in a little more, thanks to it.
