You inspiration

Hi guys, this is more pointed to the web designers and coders out there. But i was wondering, when you are thinking of a concept layout and design for a new website, what is it you do for some inspiration?

I usually look through DevArt, but am recently finding that not as good as it used to be? Maybe im advancing, or there standards are dropping?

If im designing a website - i usually look to interior designers websites, other graphic design websites - movie websites too (though these are all heavily flash based these days).

But dont constrict yourself to one box "web design" is one box think "outside the box"

It's not a "web design" its a "layout" and there are layouts all over the place, maybe you see something in a magazine and you think it could work well as a website layout, or in a book or EVEN on the back of a serial packet ;)

i usually keep track of my favourite design firms sites, and follow their folios, good ones will update them frequently.

i browse through Good-Tutorials / Photoshop Tutorials + Flash Tutorials till an idea hits me.
i also get inspiration from walking around the town with a camera and taking photos of alleyways and trashcans and stuff.
i once got a good idea from taking a picture of a power line transformer... who knew, right!
sometimes i also brows through stock image sites and then try to build ideas around a certain theme of photos that i find usable. i really like stock.xchng - the leading free stock photography site but any stock photo site is good for inspiration.
