Anyone created a web shop before?

I got a project where the client wants a web shop, a rather large one too. I have never done this before, and I'm really stumbling in the dark here. My colleague has just kind of dropped the project on me, since he obviously has no clue either. So I'm stuck here with this huge project and no idea what to do. I've created a site with Wordpress, which is live, but the web shop is not started. I've checked out E-commerce, and it looks good, but I've been told that it doesn't work well with other payment solutions other than PayPal and Google Checkout? The client wants a payment solution from a local bank, and I also have no idea how to implement this...

In other words, I guess I'm screwed.

    Any help?

Any e-commerce site ive worked on I have always worked with magento. Theres payment gateway plugins for pretty much every payment processor out there and you can integrate it with wordpress.

I've never worked with Magento before, so I guess starting with that would create more work for me? Unless it's incredibly easy to learn.

The backend's easy to use. In terms of styling though its more difficult to use as it runs on Zend Framework, so there's the MVC to get your head around. There are a large number of templates around though.

I can't use free templates, we've already made a design.

Can you not restyle a template to match your design?

Sounds like E-commerce or WooCommerce is for you then. Have you had a look at what payment processors there are out there? Places like https://www.2checkout.com/pricing/ let you accept credit cards etc which i would expect would be paid into a nominated account.

How does that work when the client wants a payment solution through a local bank?
