Just 2 ideas for the ends, probably not everyones cup of tea but aye.

The title does read wrong as cwilk stated.

(Personally , straight down the center Vertically... id have SS styled Racing stripes, like off a chevelle. Colored slightly brighter than the background color, Or have the banner styled horizontally after some ss stripes with the picture masked off inside it, But i just love ss stripes so, probably both bad ideas.)

I like that idea Toon.
Post some concepts, and we can give you tips and comments. I'd love to see what you come up with.

I worked for a printing place for a while, we made our Business Cards 55 x 90mm.

You can use Illustrator or Photoshop, which ever suits you best. When you send the business card off, make it into a PDF. Then you don't have to attach any pictures. The person who is receiving it, wont be able to tell if you used Illustrator or Photoshop. But keep all the pictures, text, and the document from the layout program you are using (e.g. InDesign or QuarkXPress, not sure if layout program is the correct word for it) incase they want to change their address or other.

Just stay within 3mm of the edge.
Just keeping them from being confused....we don't use mm her in the U.S. So a live area of 3.25"x1.75" should work for you on the business card.
