    Getting noticed/job opportunitys

So i've just left uni studying graphic design, and im in the same boat as many, what to do now!

I've applied for some jobs in my local area, but i was just wondering if anyone had any helps on tips on everything to do with getting a job/going freelance

I was thinking of sending out some mail to the local agency's to try and get noticed.
I hardly know any html/css/php etc, would it be helpful learning this to help my chances?
and CV/resume what should i include, any key lines im not thinking about that might help me get noticed?

and lastly what could i do in the meantime while finding a job, is there any good freelance opportunitys out there to keep busy?

Any help at all is greatly appreciated!

You don't have to know web to be a graphic designer, I would start building a really good portfolio online.

Try an intern at an agency always a good way to get noticed and looks great on your CV

If you send a letter to local agencies offering your services as an intern make sure you write it telling them exactly what you want to get out of it and exactly where you want it to take you.

I did a couple of days internship at a place, you think that would be ok to put on my CV?
I have a portfolio site up, it still needs abit of work to it though

You should gather your content together, personal, education, work experience, references. Then approach it like a design task, layout, grid, colours anything unique that can make you stand out, materials etc.

It's no small task to put a designers CV together but it must reflect you as a person and as a designer
