Default List Images

What's the tried and tested method to get list images to line up in IE6.

Line up perfectly and perfectly spaced in all mac browsers, but appears like this in IE. I'm assuming this is a common problem what work arounds are available?

I've had the same kind of problems - tables were the only solution I tried that guaranteed it looked more or less the same across browsers.

Probably a bit of a cop-out really! I'm sure there is a better solution out there.

Think I'd rather add them as a background image than use tables, I can't work out why IE is positioning them there and not where 8 other browsers are. It's like it's putting negative padding on them?
