Help with Textbook Design

I've had a go at adding a chapter title page;

I'm probably going to switch the font for something a bit less 'bendy'. Again, however, it doesn't feel right - especially when the two pages are lined up as a spread. :(

Any tips?

That looks much better. But pay attention to the columns lining up on the first page. To make it easier, cut your 'quote' text and put it in individually and then use another box to continue the column. This will make it easier on you.

the black/white theme carries over to the back cover. I'm thinking, at the moment, that the globe messy's up a clean design - but I when I take it out completely it doesn't look right. Any thoughts?
