Default More Site Stats...

Hey I couldn't help but to notice the forum's site stats have improved dramatically in the past week or two.
What do you think the reasoning is? The addition of the GDN? Advertising, more users, more posts, the flood? I mean it has gone up steadily since May now. I did notice you gained alot from the UK visits. That percentage came up quite a bit too. But looking at the rank... thats fairly impressive in the last 2 weeks.

Graphic Design Forum Rank Info
Traffic Rank for graphic-design-forum.com: 203,169

Anyhow, good job Toon !!

.. and yes just for the record, I have checked mine lately.. not nearly as impressive as yours, but getting better. If I worked on it, it might actually help.

I was noting your other post where you were giving Russ some schooling.. you noted he only has 5 linkbacks on Google.. for some reason, I can't seem to get Google to pick up on any of mine... Is there some trick to it that I'm just not recognizing?

It depends if they're relevent. You can add your site to 1000 free directories and google will ignore them. You can't trick google, MSN are trying to follow suit but finding it hard. Most back link checkers don't even include MSN anymore.

Yahoo will show everything.

hmmm.. back to relevant links. Well the more clues you can give the better. I've broken down and started the process anyway.

I guess I could find a site with good ratings and do a link check on it and start backtracking the footsteps to get my own links in there.

Is that unethical do you think? I'm not going to TOTALLY spam MySpace or anything... unless you tell me that actually works..

Sitescore is not accurate at all, it's search terms that are based on google don't even work the same way google does.

Google takes a keyword from the title or a match of various words to issue rank but sitescore takes the title in it's entirety which is wrong.

It also seems to make it's own markup rules.

I know for a fact this forum is valid but it chooses sometimes not to accept it.

yeah, I just felt that it did point out some good things that had already bothered me about how I set up my site.. like the fact that I left out the headings from the CSS... for one reason or another. I have jsut been putting it of and should do it anyway. It just validated some of my concerns.
Do you have a better site tester for that info?
