Just got bit bored so decided to make a logo for a fake restaurant company called dD

if this fake restaurant was a fish restaurant i can see that working if you make the shapes look like a fish - the grey outline on the circle isn't needed.

Looks ok, nice idea and obviously the colours work well together...

just an idea but instead of making your companies up why don't you look through the yellow pages or yell.com and work from companies who you feel could do with a re branding? Then if you come up with something that works you could contact them and see if they are interested?

As i say, just a thought as dD restaurants ( I wasn't going to mention the spelling mistake but hey ) doesn't really do it for me as a name. Just occurred to me that you might be doing that and that dD restaurants just has a pants name in which case I'd pitch a totally new brand to them...
