Default Site Statistics....

Just curious... how is everyone else tracking their website statistics?

I am just trying to figure out how and more importantly WHY you use the tools you do. What advantages do they have over others you've tried?

Any info will help.. thanks.
I'm testing out Google Analytics now on a few sites.. new tools and interface, pretty cool.

Google Analytics has some new features on their new Dashboard interface.. I'm still trying to decide if I like it.

I use Analytics because it free and extremely helpful. I can't imagine what other information a system would provide that isn't provided for free by Analytics and/or the simple stats that almost all hosting provides.

yeah, I found most hosting company apllications to be quite CR*P anyway. Most every end user is going to se the "free tool" so I try to stick with Analytics, just so I am on the same page as them when they come back with questions.

Have yo tried their new one??
I believe its stil in Beta.. don't know how they are rolling it out worldwide.. its ok, but not quite the same presentation. You have to click through the site more to get the data.. although aesthetically, it is a bit more appealing and it provides a ton more information.. once you get there.

Hosting stats are bad, I agree there. At first I didn't like Google's new Analytics bacuase of the navigation, but I'm getting used to it and it's not that bad. I actually think it may be better than it used to be. It does provide a ton of information too.

Alexa ranking if your pretty highly ranked can help.

Should start a thread to find where most peoples lay.

I noticed the forums blog went in at 6,897,404 got a lot of work to there I think?

not a big fan of Alexa. I've spent so much time removing search bars and cr*p scumware from peoples computers that I dont' much care for a statistic tool that uses that tactic.

Could that do with your site being ranked 7,014,160!

Ha... funny.
No, I actually just unblocked their crawler from my robots.txt and let it do its deal just to see. In general though.. I don't like their tactics.

I did notice that yours reports a significant number MORE Americans in your site than UK visitors. Thats interesting, huh.
