Yeah they seem to want a history in there.
They are a good marketing reporting tool more so for ecommerce sites I would imagine. I know if I were to design a site that sold on or linked more into Amazon.. they report better on Alexa. You mac users don't have the pleasure of dealing with those scumware adware browser enhancements hitting your machines, so perhaps you can't fully appreciate my animosity toward that practice.

I thought Firefox users where automatically linked to alexa and the sites visited are sent as data to the source?

Technorati links are worth a lot more than they used to be esspecially for blogs, I noticed a certain someone on here is using them for promotion, (Not mentioning any names)
