very nice indeed :) a coat of arms for fashion nice - one thing is it sort of congeals together and the centre bit of the coat of arms is kinda taking over for me, maybe stick some line detail arount the rim of it so it seperates itself from the rest of the artwork

Damion,....the background design is nice except I'm not digging the spike thing at the bottom. It looks rather harsh for a fashion show. It actually kind of looks like the Statue of Liberty on her head. You can probably make this design a little larger to fill area. There's actually too much white space right now.

How many colors are you allowed to work with? I think brown is somewhat dull. Toon always says that Pink is the new black. Maybe pink and black?

pink and black? no way, too garish, you want to stick with what you have :) it's nice and subtle in colour and effective to boot - classic ;)

Keep the colors.

Its a fall fashion show, which to me.. the ad appears to be geared towards women.

With that said, your silhouetted image, has some sharp points.. which i feel contradicts the look your possibly going for.

I see you've used "clothing" elements to make your silhouetted coat of arms, I think some of the elements need to feel a little more organic, more flowy free spirited if you get what i mean.

I think that would also help the woman in the middle pop a bit more.

From a female's perspective, most women don't care for brown or like to even wear brown.

Forget about it being an autumn fashion show. To appeal to the masses, another color is the way to go. Brown doesn't show excitement and that's what a fashion show invite should exude. A fashion show invite should sell itself for clothes, not for the season. Think about it as your sales piece, not just an invite.

Jump into a woman's brain (even though men attend), women are your audience. That's who your invite will need to appeal to.

Here's an article.

I don't mean to be pushy, but I have lots of experience in event planning on a large scale. This includes being creative with invitations so that people will want to attend.

Your invite creativity might or might not get people into seats.

We actually designed an invite out of jeans one time. They were cut up and screened on with the invite information. Another event was done with a brown paper bag.
