Best/Favorite Printer in Printing Business Cards

ummmm that's very numerous. Each printer can offer something different. Try and go local as much as possible and find someone you can trust and who can shift the job when things go wrong...

Paper? well... the standard stock choice of the printer to keep cost down and sometimes something based on the job...

Not really sure about the printer, but the paper I use for my own business cards is at any office retail store. It has a picture of a business card on the front cover and has smooth edges. The paper is extra thick and glossy on one side.
