Default Silly question but need help

Ok so im using the new Abobe Photoshop.

This is most probably really stupid thing to ask, but being a n00b,

I need to know how i can import an image, on to of another image without the background of the image being on top of the main image.

IE i want the image to have a no fill background, can it be done, im not even sure.

Do you know what i mean, someone help plz
