Its a hideous concept, is novelty wedding invites. Thank christ Art Deco adds a touch of style.

The top right is elegant and has character. Go with that one.

the train is great. I have been playing with Deco myself. Love the style of that era.

I'm going to play devil's advocate, but it's not going to say 'Wedding Invitation' on the front ....is it?

Coming from a female's perspective and also having designed wedding invites, I can give you some direction. We actually designed a booklet to be sent out as the invitation and the front cover is a full-color photo of the couple on a linen paper. The back cover has a Photoshopped pic of the couple from when they were only 4 years old inside a heart with a faded photo of them in the background (he's kissing her hand with her engagement ring on it.)

BTW....I love the heart look in the background that you've done, but don't always think that simple is better for a wedding invite. There are many out there that are pretty detailed.

Hey Cwilk, thanks for the advice!

Believe me, if it was up to me I'd be following your advice to the very last detail, however what they say goes (its their day, after all). The finished product will be much more of a brochure than an invite, in a card folder with lots of information and insets inside. The front (where this image will go) will end up looking like an art deco travel poster, with "wedding express" (ugh) on the front, and the various destinations etc underneath and around the edges. On the inside will be 2 photos, one of the bride and one of the groom, set in an art deco style border (circles), with a similar thing with both of them on the back (I'm playing with the idea of making it an illustration, but thats more work).

Basically they want it all art deco and train-themed, its going to be pretty heavy as it is so any simplicity I can get in there is a bonus!
