Have you had a look to see what it was/is set at?

I'd say always work in RGB

CMYK is for printing, but even then, it's really complicated, I still work in RGB for printing and let the printing software work out the colours, not had a problem yet

I could be wrong about this, but I would suggest that you take a look in the menu view>proof setup and make sure that {windows RGB} is checked or if your working on a MAC then {MAC RGB} should be checked

actually. i used the default settings of Photoshop CS3. when i view>proof setup. it sets to CMYK. but that is the default of CS3. i haven't configured that setting...

question:
If the file from PS7 opened in PScs3. do you think it may encounter problem? thnks.
