Default Suitcase Fusion Problem

I'm having an issue with Extensis Suitcase Fusion. Some of the fonts are no showing up in the preview pane and cannot be activated. They also have a strange icon beside their name (see image).

Anyone know how to fix this?

Paddy,

The icon that you're seeing indicates that you're viewing a dFont file that is in one of your System Font folders. Since it's a Wingdings file, it's possible that the font does not contain the glyphs that you're trying to preview.

If the problem goes away with a restart, it could also be a system font cache problem where the operating system has a corrupt version of the font.

If you are having more problems, I recommend calling our technical support representatives. It's free to registered users. North America: (503) 274-7030 Outside the US: +44 (0) 1604-654-270

Download and run Fontfinagler. It'll purge your font cache, and may do the trick.

Font Finagler

I use Font Explorer from Linotype. It's free and rarely has those types of issues.
It also has a large number of features that Font Book lacks, including a utility
which will which will purge system and application font caches. I've only used
both of these with 10.3.x and 10.4.x

Font Management - Simple, Smart, Free - Linotype FontExplorer X

I too recommend swithcing over to Linotype, it works great with CS2 and CS3

but if your only problem is wingdings, don't even bother trying to fix it.
