Charity graphic design in exchange for some good copy & links

I work for the charity family support partnership and I'm nearly finished designing a not-for profit sector news site, focusing on innovation within the charity arena.

I'm looking for some help on 3 small elements of the site...

- I'd like a small 'lab' related logo to replace the orange bar (topleft). I'm thinking something like a test tube with bubbles or similar.

- I'd like the search bar image changed to something more fitting with my theme/colourscheme.

- I'd like to have the colours changed on the arrow/dot design features next to archives etc.

We don't have any budget for this but I'd like to offer a few things in return:

Too many bills to pay to be working for free

I agree it would be even better if we had the budget to pay but the publicity element of it is a good incentive. If you google 'family support partnership', 'counselling lanarkshire', 'family mediation' or other keywords associated with our site you'll see how highly we feature on google. We're also frequented by professionals as well as the public, meaning public and voluntary sector budget holders will see your link.

False info you're giving out really because your site isn't even in the top 6 million sites which means your traffic flow is pretty low.

If I went into a garage and asked them for a free car so long as I displayed a big banner in the window advertsing their garage, do you think they'd say yes?

Obviously this won't be for everyone, for some designers they'll do it to help a good cause, for others it helps strengthen their portfolio to have completed work for a non-profit.

As for our site, It's never going to be MySpace but I do think 700 new unique visitors per month is pretty healthy. It's also about who is visiting the site, in our case we get a lot of professionals at a strategic level, who are also budget holders.

To be honest I'd rather people made up their own minds of the merits of this small project rather than entering into a huge debate about it on here.
