You need 5 layers in total, your background, you main visible text with a graded colour and white outline and then two duplicates of this layer plus a layer for your white sparkles.

your text with the white outline needs to be on top and stay there.

Your middle text layer is your lighter yellow outline and your bottom text layer is the drop shadow/3d text bit.

Keep all layers as text but for the top one, go to blending options and add a 4px white outline.

For your middle layer add a 15px yellow outline. (this layer should be lined up and directly below the top text layer)

And for you bottom text layer, add an 18px outline of a colour slightly darker than the other yellow and also fill the text with this colour too as you need to also shift this layer down by about 15px.

For your white sparkles etc just create your fifth layer on top of everything and use your brush tool to add them and adjust opcaity.

Remeber to adjust sizes of outlines etc to match the size of original text.

Judging by the post title I'd say he/she was after info on how to bend one edge of the text like in the example. I'm not a CS3 user so unfortunately I can give any advice.

He wants to specifically warp the text. I don't see any warpage in your example Phil.

Phil has got all the double outline whizmacizer fancy stuff going on there, but to do the actual warping, look under the "Edit/Transform" menu for the "Warp" function and then in the drop down choose "Arc Lower". Adjust the lower arc to your liking and then make the font height about 200%.

In actuality Illustrator is much friendlier than Photoshop for this sort of effect, becuse the stroke effect in Photoshop only does rounded corners past 1 px. In Illustrator you could use either strokes or the offset path function to do the same thing with much more control. The Warp function is the same but found under "Effect/Warp" instead.

if you can do photoshop, then illy should come easy since much of the tools work the same - from there, similar play and experiment...

The basic short way of doing that sort of text is typing into illy, outlining then using a warp on it..

You don't have to turn the text into outlines anymore. You can apply the warp and leave the text editable... since CS1 or CS2 I believe. Almost all the filters can be applied in a non destructive way, so you can edit text, change fonts, whatever.
