Well, i reacon the prices you charge, widely depend upon your ability as a website designer, so it's upto you to decide really, but do what I did. Do some market research and look at the prices currently being charged by website design companies. I have chosen to charge less than professional companies as I'm not qualified in website design but I know how to create websites etc.

Charge an hourly rate.

or do both. work out your hourly rate and then how many hours you think it will take - do some research as well and just see how your figure works out. If its too high, then reduce it.

We work on a flat-rate for all projects.....this is because we're pretty fast so we'd get ripped doing the hourly way. You have to think of this kind of stuff otherwise you might lose out.

But everyone is different. You should do what works for you.

Also pricing for projects will vary based on who your client is and how good your portfolio and experience is. It's difficult to give an overall cost of how much something will cost.

Every job is different I've sold a logo before for £350 and it only took 20minutes to make, I felt slightly guilty as I'd put 3 hours time in advanced and it just went really well, when you can charge more make sure you do.

Thats a very good idea to start with - that way you get to learn the mistakes and learn from them without it being to much of an issue.

I would refine the skills first, you're at school you have plenty of time to read books and do online tutorials. Don't run and all that....
