But with all the reasons 'you can't' you shouldn't really be advertising..

The reason for making logos in illustrator over photoshop is not so much a matter of choice, more of practicality.

Photoshop is good for images and yeah, you can make logos in it, but once you've set the size, its much harder to edit and can end up with artifacts and all sorts of pixelling.

Illustrator is much better for vectors. The reason why vectors are good for logos is they can be resized for different uses easily without loss in image quality. so the logo can be applied to anything.

Its also better with type. Don't forget you can import stuff from photoshop to trace and things like that.

and illy comes with photoshop. if you're on photoshop cs1 or cs2, then you should already have it.

your find it quite easy to use. its the nice thing about the adobe suite - if you know one program, you've got as head start on any other. It makes me wonder if flash and dreamweaver will becoem that way (like golive and dreamweaver together)

Go-live has never followed adobe layouts, when they bought the original software they had a contract saying they could change the layout, menus etc or the name of the program, that contract didn't run out till last November so the new CS3 go-live I would expect to fall exactly into line with how adobe except it to be layed out. But I do get your point.

mmmmm well yeah go-live is fairly different but I mean CS2 (later versions) were shipped with dreamweaver as well. It just makes me think when or where they will merge.

I don't think the logo would work on anything but a black background

i agree with all toons comments on the logo alex, and it would be nice if you tell us exactly what it's meant to be or what it's for. also joining the USE ILLUSTRATOR instead of photoshop camp :)
