Default Illustrator rounded corner problem

Hey guys!

Got a bit of a weird problem with rounded corners in Illustrator (CS3 if it makes any difference). Basically I'm designing some business cards and I've got a number of rounded squares spreading out from each other and they all need to be running parallel with each other. However no matter how i try drawing them the actual corners never line up.

Please see my attached .jpg to see what i'm talking about!

Thanks loads

Jake

You need to change the radius of the corners as you enlarge the shapes.

That worked a treat! Thanks loads for the help Toon. I'm such a numpty. I thought the corner radius would automatically increase as i scaled up the rounded square, but alas this was not the case!

If anyone else has this problem the way i sorted it was by drawing a number of normal squares and made them bigger by 5px each time and made sure all their center points lined up. I then used the Rounded Corner Effect (Effect>Stylize>Rounded Corners) to individually give each square it's own unique radius.

Fixed solution attached

Although you have now solved your initial problem, I still find the fact that the curves are not tangential, somewhat visually disturbing.

Well the idea is they're meant to be a bit kind of retro. The colours are also meant to represent what we do web (RGB) and print (CMYK).

Would drawing one shape and then duplicating it with an offset path not do similar?
