Default Need Help On My Web Site Design

I'm a college student working on my website for a business club I'm in and need some criticism on my site I'm making.

I can't tell which is better or what needs added... any help would be appreciated :)

My problem is the title of the site, there are two I'm picking between but I have been staring at the two too long to tell which is better. I feel like the first one is nice because it half way replicates the company's logo, but the other one is better because it doesn't take up so much of the page.

Here is the first one followed by the company's logo I am making the website over.

And here is the second page, i feel like this one doesn't have enough going and needs something on the top left...

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Can't you use the company logo and reproduce it in the blue with a silver outline??

that was my original thought but it'd have to be a huge title to make it fit right, and for a small screen I don't want to take up more than 1/4th of their page with the heading...

You could create a header bar similar to the one at the top of the forum and have their logo negged out, white

I would reccomend positioning the companys logo in the top left or right of teh page. then coming up with some visuals to add to the other side to blend in to fill up the top

I would second the positioning of the logo to the left or right..... not right in the middle...

Yeah i'd put their proper logo on the top left or right hand-side (aligned with either edge of the navigation graphics). Leaving the rest of the header white would be fine, as it gives an assymetrical balance to the web page, making it instantly more interesting than being centred.

It needn't take up a quarter of the page, the graphic is still legible at this size:

If you're going to have a light silver content box it might be good to have a dark background to make it stand out a little better.
