Default New site live - welcome feedback

Hello all,

We've just issued our new web site live and would welcome some external feedback:

Our website address is:

Red Box Media - Creative Website & Graphical Design

NB: The site is Flash based and best viewed on a wide screen monitor.

Many thanks in advance.

I like the design, it navigates well. My two concerns are the type size and readability. It was fine for me, but I could see how people might suffer, especially on the profile where you have lines behind your text.

Though it looked good on my screen, I'd question designing anything that looks best in a set up that few (other than perhaps, designers) have. It still looks fine in non-wide screens I take it? It seemed too to me, but then with having one, I can't compare.

Hi there, thanks for the quick reply.

I'd considered knocking back the blue lines slightly on the pages... to make the text more prominent.. but thought I'd wait for feedback first.

The site has been tested down to a resolution of 1024 x 768, where the main folders and page content are still easily viewable - and all necessary content is on the screen. Standard gurus may shout at this... but we (Red Box) rarely build sites to below this screen resolution (800x600, for example) anymore - unless the client specifically asks for it.

Well, user stats state that the 800x600 is no longer the most used and that 1024 x 768 is now preferred so thats not so much a issue. Bare in mind however that even with a 1024 x 768 setup, that my window does not fill that. With the advent of the google toolbar, ebay widgets and the like, the actual window shape is a little more squashed.

That's a good point. I don't use any of that clutter myself.. but I'll set up one of our machines here with it and re-test on there to make sure the main content is still viewable.

Also - I dropped the opacity on the blue lines slightly to make the text stand out a little more. I think it works well.. thanks for the point-out.

Hi there,

I've received this feedback (font size) from other people too..

I've now increased it on all relevant pages. I think its an improvement. Thanks.

Just be careful with your font use. With such thing strokes, that font can become easily lost on the web stuff if your not careful
