Hi all, I'm new to this group so this is an introduction as well as request for a critique. The client is in event-planning (primarily fashion but also art exhibits etc.) Here's what we came up with. Thanks for looking.

It seems to work based on your description. I'd set a minimum size in your guidelines for it mind.

Thanks for the feedback. It's just in my experience as a designer I always find logo design the most challenging kind of assignment and was still feeling a little paranoid about this one. I have another one I'd like to share. *noob question* Should I do it on this thread or start another?

Ok here goes. This one's for a Financial Trade Organization. They insist on conveying a "global" feel. I'm stuck on this globe symbol but feel I risk being cliché. Is there a less cliché symbol for to convey something "global"?

in regards to your first logo I think it is a good concept some of the details I think still need some tweeking. It may just be my monitior but It seems like the f and red are not aligned and like it is not connecting well. Also there are alot of points where you have emphasized, the red, the f the z and the o. It might be stronger if you toned down one or two of them.

AS far as the second set of logos go, I think they are good. The second, is the strongest for me.

Yes, it is a little cliche but I think that their are certain concepts that are cliche and if you client wants that then you are stuck with it. However you could try something that is more towards the aspect of trade or exchange and use color to represent different cultures.

One thing that is often an oversight is that people assume that logos have to be literal. this is not a comment just to you, I is something that I have struggled with in my logo design. Use symbolic representation but also use metaphors.
