Default Please critique my portfolio

Hey guys,

For anyone who hasn't read my introduction, I'm an 18 yr old, amateur web and graphic designer from the UK. I'm completely self taught at the moment. I recently created an online portfolio for myself, which was my first attempt at creating a proper website. I pretty much learnt CSS and XHTML along the way as I was creating it.

Anyways, if you guys could take a look and let me know what you think and how I can improve it, that would be great.

I'd really appreciate any constructive criticism or praise from you guys.

Thanks,
Michael

I like it. It's simple, clean, standard compliant. Enjoyed some of your wallpapers also.

Yeah, top marks from me too, looks great, my only negative point is I'd like to have seen the menu a little more jazzy! Seems a little plain to me

I like it a lot mate. Good to see some other young designers. I'm 17 myself and self taught myself many of my design and website coding skills.

Yeah, I definitely like the simplicity of it, however I would have to agree that menu needs some work. I saw that you had posted in another thread about working on it, so that in mind, not a bad start.

Some suggestions for the menu would be to make it stand out a little bit more. I know you are going with the minimalist look, but the nav just doesn't jump out at you enough.

Best of luck!

I am impressed. This is a great effort and clear and easy to navigate.

My only advice would be to keep going. Keep your site relevant to who and what you are, making it personal but commercial. Let me evolve as you do if that makes sense.
