Default Holy cow I'm nervous.

Okay, here is my site. I still have one page left to finish....but tah dah, there it is.

I'll try to have thick skin here

My Site.

Er...and I'm not so sure about the google ads. I don't think I'm very happy with those.

the markup isn't bad... enter your alt tags and it will validate.

Markup Validation: Failed validation, 3 Errors

This is interesting...

I'd drop that all together and use an alternative method. If you do choose to keep it, at least throw it in an external style sheet. ...

maybe one of these would be nice:

The google ads are ok they don't really interfere with the site which is good, the only thing that bothers me is the menu icons don't line up with the text?

Ya know, I can't seem to fix that. :( I've been messing with it for a couple of days now, and I can't get it just right.

I like it, I agree with toon on the google ads although is it possible for you to change the colour of the hyperlinked text?

Only other thing I would do is add widths to your divs - that way, when the browser is made smaller width ways the divs wont overlay eachother ;)

Im liking it otherwise though!

You can make your icons line up by removing the image from between the a tags and using it as a background image:

#sidebar a{
background:url('new/sidebarbutton.png') top left no-repeat;
display:block;
height:35px;
line-height:35px;
margin:0 0 5px 0;
padding:0 0 0 40px;
}
(this hasn't been tested so you may need to tweak it slightly)

Also a quick tip.... I see you're defining your font family all over the place, if you define it in the body selector i.e.

body{
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}

everything else will inherit it. It saves time if you want to change the font family in the future, makes the css file smaller etc etc...

Marcos, thank you! I was wondering about that! This site and one other are the first site I created without using tables and all the other Dreamweaver simple steps. So thanks! :)

While I agree that google ads are ok on blogs as I use them myself, I would never put them on a portfolio site. The goal of your site is to convince potential clients into using your services. You should not be enticing them to click an ad and exit your site because they may land on another firm's page and never come back. Plus I think that it just kind of makes your site look less professional compared to other designer's sites.
