I like it apart from the pink down the sides look a little washed out.

Hmmmm, I don't like the old apple navigation tabs, they really don't fit with the rest of the page. Your obviously a good coder, the page is well laid out. Good type for the name, but that rainbow bean needs to change, I just think 'Hippy', be careful of using rainbows!. I suggest with the bean you just use a white outline, the bean on a light fixture isn't working, there are other ways to say bright, see here. I like the white on black, grass or plants, your logo needs to tie.
Agree about the pink. Also ... to much text. Put some images or somethin'
thanks for the input....guys....n girls....
ok the theme and idea behind the logo and the site..
Bright = seen, noticed, stand out, aware, also clever .A tenous link is Brighton were I live.
Bean = seed, start of something, new, fresh, create, start of an idea, developing an idea through to a blossoming......whatever.
And design I think you can all get..
the navigation was from a cssmenu website someone posted on this forum so i tried it....
Ok Logo...says all this....but also the colours are all changable...change being a key to being creative...I think anyway.
Also in Brighton uk we have a very strong and proud gay community and i'm hoping to tap into this market....the symbol or brand if you like for gay safe/friendly is the rainbow....so I used it..but its not set in stone..
The layout...valid point about the text..but it is just there for me to position it....there will be some client enticing images and text on the 1st page when im finished not just text, so that will please you...
I plan to change the image of the site seasonaly so the current theme is spring summer..a new day a new morning a new start..
cheers delicraig for the comment about my coding..this is my first attempt at the wide fluid style site and only my second website..
and I have now worn my fingers into stumps with all this typing...
Thanks for your comments..

You need to be sure of colours you use, the point of creating a brand is to create a strong and consistent identity, that people will identify with. Careful of cliches,

Often the best solutions, are the ones we least expect, give Brighton's gay community a new colour, not one they're already associated with.

I understand what youre saying Delicraig.....
The logo will stay as is for the time being..i might loose the line under the text as when printed small on stationary etc is lost anyway..
:)
If you choose to stick with your logo, make the light fitting more obvious, keep it in proportion with the bean. I agree with your point about the line under the text, the type you've used is strong enough to render any decoration superfluous. It's looking good though so keep pushing yourself ; )
Thanks Delicraig....speak again soon...
there should be a live chat room in here....???? TOON if your reading this..
im off to bed now I've had a lousy day....
thinking about it a chat room would kill the forum..so ignore me......... :)
