I agree a more interactive element would be much nicer for a designers site

Hmm..Ive just checked it in firefox and it seems fine...in what does it move?

What do you think of the general design? If im being honest im not to keen...I may go back to a design similar to my existing (i.e. block on a page with content in) but go for a more sleek, up to date look thats less grungy.

Phil

I am not sure the orange/cyan, not the grey tint on the content is doing you much justice really. Otherwise it seems to be coming along.

Not a problem.

The grey tint makes the main area look a little dirty and does not aid readability. While the most readable set-up is actually white on blue, in practice this can look shit on the web. To maintain a clean feel, I'd keep it on white, and use grey areas to differentiate areas on your site. Remember to use subtle gradients too, as this works better visually. Just look at the orange bars on this site. They are in fact very slight gradients.

The blue/orange thing: These two are constrasting colours on opposite sides on the colour wheel but they simply don't work in this way. Look at this site for more on basic colour choices.

so maybe keep the theem of charcoal greys and the blue - lose the orange, and have a really slightly faded white content background?

That might work. You'll have to experiment to be honest, mate. You could use the blue for bars and stuff, and then a little orange on tiny touches. ala Amazon.co.uk: low prices in Electronics, Books, Music, DVDs & more
