Default website mock up....

Ok, I wanna know what you think...

Personally I feel the nav should be positioned along the grey horizontal bar but as said before on here..."what the client asks for...is what the client often gets" ;)

I also feel that its a bit too dark aswell..anyone else feel the same?

Basically I jsut want your views....

Oh, and for the record, it will be positioned centrally and have the red and black horizontal stripes to eitherside....

I assume you mean "bar" ???!!! ;)

No, I don't find that too critical...

I see what you mean about the dark background, I'll be running this one over with him later on. As for nav, well, we both agree and will be trying to persuade him to accept that a top nav will work better! The reason that I have put is name in a "signature" type font under his photos is because I am going to position his signature there. I will be changing the direction of the shadow and trying out a few other fonts too...the web 2.0 reflection was just a way of me "brightening up" the banner as with just plain text it seemed a little bland.

Oh, and I've thought of a way that I can have the silver bar one size...thats if he accepts to have the nave bar on it. Because I dont want any gap between his body and the bar at the left hand side the bar has too be that size to have has hand "resting" on it. However, if he agrees to having the nav on the bar I will have the whole bar that size as he wants 12 doing and will double them up i.e. two lines of buttons...If he does go for this option I think I will also suggest that where the nav bar is on the left he could have the Irish 8 Ball Pool ranking table instead...common throughout the site.

Seriously though, I appreciate all feedback and criticism as I can only get better from the age of 16....cant I? ;)

indeed you can mate. But dont get into the habit of the client telling you how to do your job. If they were such brilliant designers they would of made the website themselves. You consult them on what you know works and see what they say, but if you lie down like a welcome mat at the beginning of the project it will turn into a website that you were forced to do, and not one you actually like or want to put your name to.

I see what you are saying and appreciate it. Unfortunately the client is unable to continue with the project due to a raise in entry fees to his pool tournaments in 2008 so we are going to continue the website at a later date.
