Default The visual design for social community site

Hello,
I've just design the first version of the visual interface for a social community site for business.
I'm very glad to receive critique feedback from you. Thanks a lot for your help.
Kind regards,
Hung

It looks fine apart from the heavy borders I would make them more subtle. Instead of grey use only a slightly darker blue that the darkest part of the centre grad.

It all seems a little 'squared off to me'

I think the contrast between the main text and the background is way to low and I also think that the bottom links and copyright text could have been alot smaller.
Same with those list arrows, they steal alot of my attention... and this is only a bad thing if that not was you intend to do so.

One last thing, you could skip some of the gradients as well. It's just too much of that IMO.

the way it's laid out and with all the images that are going to be requited to be loaded it's gonna take a while to render that beast in a browser. couple seconds at least. business people tend to have the shortest attention spans of any other demographic so you gotta pare that down a bit. you don't really need all the borders or have them be rounded. white space can visually separate just as well as borders and lines.

Hello,
I've just added one banner on top to make the page looks more attracting. I also make few changes to the colour of the page. This is the second version of the this page. How do you think about it?
Thanks for support.
H

the banner is too large... you loose information above the fold because of it and it doesn't really add anything to the site.
