I like it... at least the top two-thirds. I don't mind the bottom (having a little sketched/painted feel t a piece of it) but one-third of the page is a bit much for a MS Paint drawing, ya know?I'd just tone that down a bit, maybe enlarge the photos... or you could swap it with a photo and put the drawing in the background more. It's just a bit... large, so it makes you look like a bad artist, as opposed to having the feel for the diary with a drawing by a student (that is what you were going for, right?).
One thing you might try is making a realistic sketch (go outside of the building and draw)—leave erase marks, whatever. Then use that on the cover and it will look less like it was done by a 5-year-old and more like it was done by a student studying architecture at the university... you get the idea. Good luck! And definitely a good start.
EDIT: Oh, and lose the cross-hatching on the photos. It makes it look like you just discovered photoshop filters, not like you're a great designer ;-) Just leave 'em as good old photos, maybe a little faded. Just a tip!
