Firstly, I appreciate your passion for the design... that's no doubt what keeps your fire burning

Now, for the rest of you... If you are a designer or other graphics specialst, then stick with that. You can be a great designer without any knowledge in the web. Just because you can design does not mean you can effectively create a web site and manage it properly. Even more so, you certainly should not try to open a business that says, "hey I make great web sites, buy my product"...

...in fact, if you read the question that was asked here, "I would like to know your review/though on my site (also portfolio)", you would note that the question was about the "SITE" and the portfolio was the second question. Actually, if you pay attention, I specifically point out those that ask that specific question. I tend not to critique the actual art, although I often praise the artwork that I like.

A lot of sites such as the one in this post specifically say they create W3C Compliant sites for you and your business, yet when you look at their site.... it isn't. That is something, as a business owner, I feel they should know. That gets a response such as this:

Markup Validation: FAILED 29 Errors
on the other hand... if you are a young designer, took the time to try to do it right and got stuck on a particular problem... you might find a reply such as this one.... DOCTYPE PROBLEM

Anyhow spas, I don't expect you to fully "get it"... but I do understand your position as an artist.. I would expect you to say exactly what you did, "if it looks good, who cares". As for why anyone should create works that are standards compliant... well search the web, search this forum... you'll find plenty of answers.

Actually, you might start here:

If a site looks good, and loads quick, what does the code matter?

Using as close as you can to web standards allows for internet design to progress. CSS is a beautiful design technique, and people are in the process of learning to use it for layout. The more people that use it, the more browsers support it; the more browsers support it, the more people can use the new technology; the more people use the new technology, the faster web design techniques can progress in the interests of making more efficient and powerful sites, not to mention sites easier to maintain and design.

There, I said it. :P

OK so back to leaving some feed back on bhushan's site. The over all site is nice. Gets users to navigate easily. But i do agree with gospastic about displaying all of your Icons and typo logos. Maybe mix it up with some more logos without the reflection, this way it give users and maybe even possible clients a more rounded idea of what you have to offer. Over all.... Nice Simple design.

Thanks everybody for your suggestions and feedback, Thank you

Actually it is the first website i have coded and i believe it has not come out too bad.

And now i am in process of learning css design, so probably in the next version i will see to it i develop the site using complete css.
Also i will see it will that to display the best works and not the weaker ones (as gospatic mentioned, thanks for the advice)

Also i will see to it that , i don't use reflection very often.
(Actually those reflection are not their in the actual design, i have just added them on my site because i felt it was looking good. Thats the only reason why i have that reflection effect in most of the works)

Thanks everybody!

Tommylogic is spot on right here I'm afraid. Standards compliancy is more important than design in this day and age. Tables break the cardinal rule of separating content and style. Only tabulated data should be in tables. Also, as a rule of thumb, validate code will make a better looking site than the design. It's what the standards are there for.

EDIT: Bhushan, the site is visually appealing, it's nice that way. Good luck with CSS, it's so easy lol. All I would say is focus on standards as soon as you begin, it will make your life easier in the long run.

Oh, and if you aren't going to add a "Web Design" section to the portfolio section before you publicize the site, I'd get rid of the link in the portfolio for now. It makes the site look incomplete, as opposed to having a complete site with less links. It just looks more professional. ;-)

I have just came across a blog which say Most popular site like google, facebook, youtube etc., are still using tables

Top 30 popular websites that still are using tables as main layout structure - web2.0flow - upgrade yourself here

Also some comment say table are still easy and clear.

Now what is best?

Pete Doherty is popular, but he's a crackhead lol. Tables are easier for programmers in the sense that they are more rigid, and programmers don't tend to concern themselves with the front end anyway. What do all those sites you mentioned have in common? Programming!
