Hi everybody
after researching some logo design tips and hints and trying a few different things out, I came up with something quite bold and simple, yet recognizable even in small sizes, as watermarks, usable on a business card and so on (or so do I think :p) I hesitated a bit about the bars on the "a" which represent the iris diaphragm of a photo lens, making them extend and cut the "a" makes the letter hardly recognizable and does not look so good when small sized, so I think small size version will not have this at all. The logo is to be used for my activities as a photographer, I didn't want it to convey any particular kind of feelings as I may be doing various types of photography later on... The photo showcase website and business cards are planned to be black gray and white only, all the color information is left to the photos themselves to make them stand out. I simply used my acronym as a logo, but changed the font face a bit to get something more unique and recognizable. The logo may be used by itself or together with the full name on the right (photographe is the french word for "photographer" ;) ) Here goes, constructive critique needed !

Thanks for the tips, here are 3 different versions then
Same as above, closer to the text :) ![]() Same as this but fully extended lines ![]() Same as this but half opacity ![]() What do you think looks better and not too cluttered ? As I said, in very small sizes all those lines have to be removed anyway ... |

thanks for your advice
i tried using that as a watermark also but it appears the logo letters are quite instrusive and bold, I tried something like this one below, what do you think of this one compared to the #1 above ?

I still like the one with the shutter lines best, but I can see what you mean about a watermark... I think the #1 above is nice enough that you shouldn't even use it as a watermark unless you have to, in which case you might have to rethink a bit... Try the latest one, with white fading shutter lines perhaps?
