i'd just make the word cricket a bit smaller, by a third or so (so its still a bit larger than 'simply') you'll be more or less there then

Hmm
the third is good
Its says simply cricket, but is yelling cricket at me
why the difernece in size?
I mean they (simply and cricket) potentialy can be the same weights weather
they are the same pt size or if "simply" is a smaller size but kerned out?

and here is multi national input
whats the symbol is it the things that are like stick you try to knock down?
either way if the words fit together better your little symbol can be a little bigger.
To in a sense simply say Cricket?

Yeah, the symbol on top of the text are the sticks that you try to knock down, more commonly known as stumps.

I think we're going to try to make the text similar in size and then play around with the location of the stumps. The other guys involved like the first logo but I think it's lacking something - mainly the C with the supposed cricket ball coming out from it.

Thanks for all the feedback so far!

To save on creating a new thread, I'll reuse this one.

After a bit of trouble we finally got a logo but I'm still not happy with it as I think it's too cartoony and was also lacking a background:

Have tried to put a background to it but nothing seems to work, mainly due to the cartoon style of the player.

However, I seem to prefer it this way, with the player silhouetted and a sky/grass backdrop added:

(the text change will be the new name of the site).

Can anyone give me some pointers on how to improve either logo or at least work out a compromise some way?

Thanks!

Just be careful how close your bloke comes to your text.

zumojuice - how do you mean? Would you advise having a larger gap between the text and the player?

Also, does anyone have any thoughts on the size of the player; should it be smaller, bigger or stay the same?

Thanks for all the advice (once again!).

Not a lot, but yes, just a little more space between text and player. More on the top one, than the bottom one really. Try as much as equally the space between logo and tagline as with logo and player, if you get me?

With a little more space, I think you have the scale of him just right on the cricarena logo.
