Default Portfolio Site Critique - In Progress

I have been working on a new portfolio site and would like to get your thoughts on it. In the past I have done all flash portfolios like this but this time I dcided to go with a wordpress based portfolio which you can see here: FXR Design

This isnt the final domain, but for the moment please let me know what you think.

Thanks a bunch

I think it is pretty good looking. The layout puts the focus on the portfolio work, and not the layout. Good work.

I can't see why using a blog is the solution if you make websites surely you should be building one to the correct spec

Thank you for the feed back. As for why a blog, primarily because it seems the easiest to update with new pieces (which I am still in the middle of doing) and also I don't just do web sites but also print work, web banners and collateral graphics. Not sure what spec you were referring to, XHTML 1.0, or something else? I am actually still trying to get a handle on what that is so if you have a good tutorial or write up about it please send it my way. Any other thoughts on my design? :)

Looks just fine, I think you should work on the details.
Better colors, better content placement, etc.
Good luck ;)

It looks nice, however Im not to keen on the blog thing, Sometimes it works really well and sometimes it dosnt, one of the only blog portfolios I like it David Airey :: Graphic Designer . this one is top notch, I prefer to have a website not a blog site to showcase my work. It seems a tad more professional than a blog. And usually appeals more to a corporate stand point. My website is still under construction but you can get the idea of what I am striving for ImageFix Solutions Creative Group
