Hello everyone. Part of joining this forum was to get constructive criticism on my work so I can improve as a designer and make some friends in the industry. With that said, I would love to get some criticism on this logo:



This logo was for an audio company that produces top quality headphones, who ran a contest on 99designs that ended today. They wanted an icon along the lines of Apple, Nixon, VonZipper, etc. Please tell me if it works or doesn't. Why and why not and what can be improved. I would prefer blunt rather than sugar-coated honesty. Thank you guys!

I like the idea, but the hard line on the top of the note seems out of place. The rest of the logo is very curvy, including the font used.

The black portion of the logo looks more like a C than something indicative of an E, as I assume this is a combo of 'EJ' to represent the name. I would suggest removing the black portion altogether, and incorporating the 'e' into the rounded part of the note itself, and softening the cleft of the note, similar to how the bottom of the black part of the logo is curvy rather than so sharp.
