Designing portfolio website, a bit stuck

I'm working on a re-design of my personal portfolio website, to go along with the long overdue replacement of all the work that's been gathering cobwebs in my current portfolio. Unfortunately, I think I might have designed myself into a hole regarding the content area.

Plan #1 was to place the content area in the mountain of snow. The problem is that the mountain is largely cut off at an 800x600 resolution, and I'm afraid that it might be too separated from the navigation for it to work well as a content area.

Plan #2 was to place the content over the falling boy, but I don't think the image works as well with him covered up.

Plan #3 Is to do a different layout for the interior pages, but I'd really prefer to keep the site as basic as possible.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. :)

I think plan 2 is best. Plan 1 layout look unbalanced

I think both would be too small for any wortrhwhile content.

Can you not use the image, like a header, and use the space underneath in the snow?

I agree with blueocto, in either case the content area is too small.

ngquochung86--#2 seemed like the better option to me too. I just hated to cover up the kid in the image.

    blueocto--
The content will be small-- really just thumbnails, in fact. However, since I was debating using this site as a test for a CMS like Drupal or Wordpress, and hosting my sketchblog on it as opposed to using Blogger, I think that moving the content down may not be a bad idea.

Here's the version with the content moved down into the snow.
