Need help making a face

I have what I consider to be a rough idea of a human face. I'm not that good when it comes to this, mainly due to lack of experience. I would appreciate any and all ideas on how to make this look great. Thanks. Link to the picture is provided and I used Adobe Illustrator for Mac.

What's it for? A logo?

Not a logo so much as I'm just trying to get the hang of making a face from scratch. I'm more used to using pictures and layering them with effects. I basically need to branch out from my comfort zone.

In terms of things like the nose and mouth I just draw a complete blank. And the hair has given me trouble as I'm not sure how to the get the right hair to give it the texture I need (not long, complicated hair, just simple)

How about starting with an image of a skull and reconstructing the face on top of that?

Take a drawing class, or pick up a drawing tutorial book, nothing beats doing it by hand, it may take a while to get it right but it is fully worthy while,

Here are some examples of faces, they are simply amazing! The last face is made up of objects where as the others are made of font.
