ok some things you should know when it comes to the 'overly used' effect i think
when you're using the reflection effect, keep this in mind, the reflection is on a glass surface, not mirror, this means usually if u see an object from a distance, it wont reflect equally all the way. the replection is also never that far from the object.
now for your second attempt, the reflection is never distorted like that, now it mabe at an angle, in wich case that means ur viewing the object at a dif angle, or the lighting is casting a shadow, in which case the reflection idea wont work..ugh

re-read what i said and look at this to better explain what i mean...



anyway, i like the blue hand print, nice touch to it, but the baby image is blah :P and the 'O' is kind lost amids all of whats going on.

delete the baby photo, delete the black O

now add a white O, maybe a diff font or do it by hand, make it rough a little, as iff you're making a white hole in the palm of that hand as to make it shaped like an O

something like that
