Default online radio station web site critique

Hi just finished making this web site for my online radio station. It could do with sharpening up under the hood (some loose css and js) but looks wise, logo? usability? good or bad?

thanks in advance

Is this designed for an iphone or some other mobile browser?
If so, perhaps the text on the navbar could be made more prominent (Home, blog, line-up, djs, contact us).
Otherwise it looks fine, not much to say really.

If it's not for a mobile browser, then it's really sparse. You've got alot of horizontal space you could use to spread things out.

Keep in mind you can have multiple stylesheets for different browser types.

Looks pretty clean to me. It does look a bit thin, horizontally. My only other comment would be to somehow distinguish all the navigation rows one from another. Just to help visitors know which is the main one, or which one they should focus on.

But looks pretty good over all.

To me, there's a uniqueness to the tall/skinny look that's appealing when paired with the simplicity of your design. Still taking a little more horizontal space could make for less scrolling for the user.

I agree with creating more contrast between your two nav bars. I definitely want to see the word "listen" associated with the player links. You might consider adding "Listen" to your top navbar and adding "Flash", "Windows Media", etc. as dropdown items.

Hope this helps.

Looks good. I'd just work on some of your coding fundamentals though: [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.radiofluff.co.uk/ - W3C Markup Validator

Hi thanks for all the feedback!

I quite like the thin format that I have used, but i do understand that there's a lot of wasted horizontal space so I might look into stretching it out a little. The problem is the home page has very little text content so I went for something small and simple, but yeh the DJs page is a little scroll intensive.

Ive made a small image under the album art pointing to the listen live links.

I have also updated both the xhtml and css so that they both validate!

thanks again for this help, i really do appreciate it!

Any more comments?

Brilliant, I really like it - and the validate code is a bonus. I'm at work atm, so don't have an age to look over it, but I will look more in depth next time I can.

I really like this site. It's clean sharp and really sells itself without overdoing it. The only thing I would change if anything at all would be the topline nav. I would style it to be a bit more consistent with the other nav blocks, even if you keep the different mouse over highlight colours. The only other bit of advise would be to obfuscate your email address under the 'contact us' button. Using a mailto is just an open invitation to spammers to fill you inbox.

Good stuff.
